The Patterned Shawl

Painted with a delicate hand, this endearing portrait shows a finely-featured girl in a white décolleté dress with a frilled neckline, elbow-length sleeves and a blue ribbon sash, her brown hair in long loose curls. She’s been captured drawing a fringed white and gold sprigged shawl over her arms.

The miniature is set in the original gold frame with a seed pearl surround. The reverse is glazed to reveal a small lock of her hair. The pin to the brooch setting has been removed.
