Signed and dated 1805, this accomplished drawing portrays a Regency lady posing with her elbow on the stone plinth of a column. With her curled hair upswept and secured with a plaited bandeau, she is wearing a fringed pelisse over an empire-line dress with an open collar fill-in. Kid gloves and a hat trimmed with ribbons complete her outfit.
Drawn in pencil, the portrait is signed A Bond and dated 1805. It is housed in a flat profile bird’s eye maple frame with a gilt slip.
