Bluebells & Rose
19th century
£75
This attractive botanical watercolour shows a pink rose alongside a stem of a bluebell. It may have been painted with the aid of a stencil in the tradition of a theorem, a technique that originated in China and was later adopted by accomplished young ladies both in England and in America.
The watercolour is presented in a ribbed wood (light oak?) frame.
