Amorini

This poignant miniature portrait shows two children, possibly siblings, depicted as amorini or winged cherubs amongst the clouds and on their way to Heaven. Sadly the children’s names have not been recorded.

Dating to the early to mid 19th century, the portrait is well painted and is in fine condition with fresh colours. It resides in a period gilt metal frame with a wooden panel on the reverse.
