A Woodland Stroll

It’s the fashion detail that makes this little portrait so appealing: the young lady’s white dress is edged with lace and trimmed with blue ribbon; her hands are warmed by a grey fur muff, her shoulders by a charcoal cloak; her brimmed hat has a large rosette and a delicate lace veil at the back to cover her curls.

The portrait is set in a later pressed brass frame that is a little tarnished but otherwise fine.
