Sibling Love

Double miniatures are less often to be found and when they feature children they can be particularly enchanting. The children in this miniature are undoubtedly siblings, probably brothers. They are dressed alike in simple white dresses, one trimmed with a blue ribbon sash and are seated on a red upholstered chair that adds a splash of strong colour to the composition.

The portrait is set with a gilt metal mount within a decorative giltwood frame.
